12 weeks and worried

So, today marks 12 weeks.  That's totally exciting, but I just got a call from PPVI that my progesterone draw from yesterday shows that my progesterone has taken "a nose dive."  Exact quote there, so I'm freaking out.  It was 16.  I am on the verge of tears.  Please pray that everything is ok.

  1. I know it's scary to see those numbers dip...but PPVI told me at the start of my pregnancy that it's very common for women's levels to zigzag during pregnancy--almost nobody is a "straight line", they told me. Mine dipped a few times too, but that's why they monitor it. Did they up your dose?

    1. Yes, they said to go back up to 200 twice a week. So, I had 100 yesterday, so we just did another 100. I called my husband as soon as I got the call and said he had to come home and shoot me up.

    2. I would have done the exact same thing. Good thinking.

    3. Yeah, I would think that the increased dose should help a lot--I bet your next blood draw shows your number going up.

  4. Hang in there. Mine did the exact same thing at 12 weeks. I had my blood draw in the morning and then went to see my OB in the afternoon for my 12 week appt. We saw baby on u/s moving all around and everything looked great. I was shocked when my Napro Dr. called me the next day to say my level was 14 from the previous morning! 14! I totally freaked out even though I had just seen all was ok on the u/s.

You will get through this. Try not to put too much stock in the progesterone numbers. Mine continued to zig zag all through the pregnancy. You can see my fertility timeline on my blog for more details. It's hard, I know. I was in your shoes not too long ago. Try to trust in the perfect timing of this little life and the One who created him/her. Hugs, love, and prayers!

  5. My numbers went up and down too. It is SO easy to be nervous and panicky. I still am! I will be praying to St. Catherine for you, your DH and your little one!

Prayer to Saint Catherine of Siena for Mothers: Humble virgin and Doctor of the Church, in thirty-three years you achieved great perfection and became the counselor of Popes. You know the temptations of mothers today as well as the dangers that await unborn infants. Intercede for me that I may avoid miscarriage and bring forth a healthy baby who will become a true child of God. Also pray for all mothers, that they may not resort to abortion but help bring a new life into the world. Amen.

  10. I am trying not to freak this weekend too. They have me off the progesterone and I have labs on Monday. It seems so far away. I've never had to trust so much.
